He glared at the monkey, knowing that it wasn't scared of Jack at all. Merely toying with him. He grumbled and lowered his pistol as he watched her.
"That monkey is nothin' but trouble. Always had been, always will be."
He said as he put the pistol away and sat back down behind his desk.

'That monkey is nothin' but trouble. Always had been, always will be.' What a load of rubbish, how can a monkey 'cause so much trouble? Melissa rolled her eyes and watched him sit back down at his desk. She decided to continue standing, and looked at his office still. Finally turning back to him, she walked over to the seat she'd been in before, and sat down, bring her legs up to rest in the chair as well. For this to work, she had to sit side ways, instead of straight on, but it was still comfortable.
Turning her neck so that she faced Jack, she gave a small sigh and bit her bottom lip. For some reason she just felt like she had to tell him something, but nothing was coming up. Maybe it was just the urge to talk. That could be the only thing, 'cause her head was coming up blank for anything else.
"Excuse me for budding, but what is it that the monkey had done? Fore you seem to really hate it if you wish to point your pistol at it."

"That monkey is undead. Meaning no matter how much I kill it...it doesn't die."
He grumbled angrilly.
"Plus he always messes with the rum and the crew. And..I just hate monkeys."

Melissa gave a little laugh when he said the monkey was undead. Was that possible? She shook her head and stood up from her chair, so that she could lean on the desk towards him.
"An undead monkey, Captain? I find that terribly hard to believe. And how can you hate monkeys? They are practically our relitives what with being the only other species with thumbs."
At this she wiggled her thumb around playfully. Though this was her first captain, she didn't mind getting on his nerves, it was just fun. So she decided to open the door again and let the monkey in. She brought it over to her seat and sat down, letting it stay on her lap.
"It's not that hard now is it? I'll make sure he dosn't do anything. Anyway, I think he's an adorable little thing. Any idea as to what it's name is?"

He glowered at her as she defended the monkey and disbelieved the fact that it was undead. He rolled his eyes and then stared at her.
"I believe in a different form of evolution, love. Far from monkeys."
He added. He glanced at her as she let the monkey back in and then growled. He pulled out his pistol and pointed it at the creature as it sat on her lap. Careful to aim just right so as not to miss and end up shooting her, he shot the monkey sending it into the air with a screech.
"Jack. His name's Jack."

Melissa gasped as he shot at the monkey, sending it into the air. She jumped out of her chair quickly, and caught it, it practically clinging to her. She pet it a couple times to calm it's reaction of the shot and then snapped her head quickly in his direction.
"Captain! How could you have done that... You nearly..."
She stopped suddenly. She was about to say, 'You nearly hit him.' But she turned quickly back to the monkey and saw that there was a small bullet hole in the monkey vest he was wearing. He did shoot him? But that was... He would've been... Melissa turned back to Jack, complete and utter disbelivement across her face. What kind of ship had she come aboard? How had this happened?
Shaking her head, she continued to pet the monkey, but not out of trying to comfort him, but more along the lines of nerviously. What else would you expect if you just found out something was undead, and you've been cuddling it for a long time. Just the thought of it made her put the monkey back on the floor, and let it go back out the door.
"How... How is that even possible?"

He sighed, still aiming his pistol at the monkey.
"Please..get that cursed thing out of my cabin. That is an order."
Ha. Why didn't he think of that sooner?

Melissa nodded, not even having entirely paid attention to what he just said. She was completely in shock as it were. Walking over to the door, she mindlessly opened it for the monkey to leave, and then walked back over to her chair and sat down.
"I... That's not really.... Is that possible? How could a monkey... Be dead but still alive?"
Quickly lifting her hands to her head, she started to rub her temples as a head ache started to form. Well, if she was going to be hanging around Jack for a while, she'd might as well get used to it. After all, she had heard tons of odd stories of him, going off into many dangerious adventurers, searching for something. But half of them she thought must've been made up. Of course someone might make up stories about themselves just to make them seem superior.
[Hey, this is my last post till saturday or sunday see you then -nods-]

Jack walked around the desk and picked up the monkey by the back of its shirt and carried it to the door and threw it out, shutting the door behind it. He then put his pistol away and walked back to his chair and sat down.
"It is possible. Ever hear of Captain Hector Barbossa?"
He asked raising his brow a bit.
"Well..that's his monkey, Jack."
[-nod- Got it.]

[I'm back! weee -gigglesnort- i was dieing of boredom there -sigh-]
Melissa bit her bottom lip and thought for a second on the name. Captain Hector Barbossa? Where did she feel she had heard that name before? Yes... She had stowed away on the Black Pearl before... except that time she'd been under deck the whole time. But since it was a place for rum, she heard people coming and going daily. Of course she had heard the name Barbossa before, because he had been the captain. How was Jack the captain of this now.
"Wait... wasn't Captain Barbossa the.. well, captain of this ship? How did you come to take over?"

[Woo! -hugs- Missed you!]
He grumbled under his breath and then nodded.
"He was captain, only because he and the crew marooned their first captain on an island."
He said gruffly.
"He was me first mate, never the true captain as I am."

[yay -gigglesnort- -huggles back- missed you too]
Melissa continued to bite her bottom lip and looked around the room, trying to ignore eye contact before she couldn't help but say something afterwards. I mean, what would make his own crew go against him, and then take him back? Maybe they just didn't understand what he had to offer and now they did, or perhaps Barbossa had more to offer. Only one real way to find out.
"Well, what would cause the crew to do that? What would make them want to maroon you?"

"They were actually all quite drunk at the time. Barbossa saw to that. So he filled them up with rum, and then told them a few false tales about me plans for treasure. And they believed him since he was first mate and all."
He said nodding.

Melissa sighed and nodded. She finally looked away and kept her eyes on a picture for a while. So, the drunkenness from rum has struck again. And has ruined yet another persons future. Maybe that was why she didn't have rum so much. Perhaps she knew in the back of her mind, that it could ruin someone's whole entire life. But growing up around pirates, she had always been tought that having the drink was good, and it felt like all of your troubles melted away. But in reality... You were just making new troubles that you wouldn't even be able to remember in the morning.
"Barbossa... He let greed take over him, and now look at what's happened to him. What exactly is so wonderful about gold anyway? I honestly can say, that i don't think you can truley buy happiness, or even love for that matter."
She added on the last bit, knowing how much men pirates loved to buy off woman. Little scoundrel pigs. She'd hang herself before she ever let herself come to that ultimate low.
